Budget Billing is
a program where Randolph EMC calculates how much electricity a member has
used for the previous year. Assuming the member will use that same
amount of electricity for the coming year, Randolph EMC divides the total
kilo-Watt hours (kWh) used for the year and its cost, into 12 equal
payments. The member then pays that equal amount each month for next 11
months, regardless of what they use. The 12th month is called the "catch up" month.
If a member has paid too much during the previous 11 months a
check is written out to repay them. If they have paid too little,
the member pays the remaining balance to bring his/her account balance
to zero. Bank Draft and Budget Billing are two separate programs.
Members can choose either one, or both, if they desire.
