Bright Ideas
Randolph EMC earmarks $10,000 each year for the Bright Ideas education grant program, sponsored by North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives. This important community program strives to improve education in North Carolina classrooms by awarding grants to Tar Heel teachers in grades K-12 for innovative, classroom-based projects that would not otherwise be funded.
Certified teachers in Randolph, Moore and Montgomery counties are eligible to apply for grants of up to $2,000. Each year, applications are accepted from teachers in a variety of disciplines including music, art, history, reading, science, career-planning and information technology.
Interested educators must have a truly creative project for their classrooms to be considered for the grant. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Sept. 21, 2012, and must be completed and submitted online. Applications submitted by August 17, 2012 will be entered to win a $500 Visa Gift Card!
